State-owned housing block at corso Matteotti 16, Turin: detailed design awarded to the Box Architetti, VEE and SIA Professionisti Associati grouping

This is a direct award under art. 50(1)(b) of D.Lgs 36/2023, made after comparing the quotations that the Administration requested from eight firms. The service lasts 150 days and is worth 103.848,64 euros, excluding social security contributions and VAT. The award of the works, estimated by the Administration at about 2 million euros, is scheduled for 2028.

The building, designed in 1937, has five storeys above ground and a basement, with fifteen occupied flats, and is subject to landscape protection and to the presumption of cultural interest under the Italian Cultural Heritage Code. The project aims to preserve the building and make its façades and projecting elements safe, to recover its historical and architectural value, to improve energy efficiency in a way compatible with heritage protection and to upgrade the systems of the common areas, with the flats remaining occupied during the works.

The service includes a full survey of the building with 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry, preliminary investigations, the energy assessment of the existing condition, the detailed design in a single stage, the safety and coordination plan and the documentation for the landscape authorisation and the Heritage Superintendency. Within the grouping, Box Architetti is responsible for the architectural design, VEE for the building services and the energy aspects, and SIA Professionisti Associati for the structures.
